The RIMC entrance has three written papers, a Viva Voce and a medical exam. There is no negative marking, but you need at least 50% in each written paper to reach the interview.

RIMC (Rashtriya Indian Military College), Dehradun is India's only RIMC — a Ministry of Defence pre-military school that admits boys and girls into Class VIII and grooms them for NDA. Founded on 13 March 1922, it takes only about 25 cadets per term, and its alumni include service chiefs and decorated officers. That small intake is why structured coaching matters. The RIMC motto is “Bal Vivek” — Strength and Wisdom (conscience). It sums up what the college builds in every cadet: physical strength with sound judgement. It is a common Viva Voce question, so our students learn its meaning and the college's history before the interview.

Twice a year — in June (for the January term) and in December (for the July term). An eligible student can therefore get more than one attempt within the age window. Our batches are planned around both cycles.
No, the RIMC written exam has no negative marking. Students should attempt every question. However, a minimum of 50% is required in each written paper to be called for the Viva Voce, so accuracy in every subject matters.

Yes. Students from any state can join our residential RIMC batch at the Amritsar campus, with hostel, meals, supervised study and daily physical training. Families who cannot relocate can choose the live online batch, taught by the same faculty.
The Viva Voce is a 50-mark interview held for candidates who score at least 50% in each written paper. It tests confidence, communication, general awareness and personality. Final merit = written marks + Viva Voce, subject to medical fitness. We run regular mock interviews for every student.
RIMC does not give automatic NDA entry — cadets still clear the UPSC NDA exam and SSB after Class 12 — but its training gives them a strong edge. RIMC is widely known as a feeder institution for NDA. Students who miss RIMC can reach the same goal through our NDA coaching.
